I work exclusively with stoneware clay and, (like my pastel work) my sculptures are concerned with movement and life. When modelling human forms I sometimes distort the proportions giving my figures a sense of the ‘heroic’. To colour my pieces I use a mixture of glazes and oxides and sometimes Raku fire pieces which are all unique, (I do not make molds/copies).
In recent years I have been focusing on animals, (usually in groups) stampeding or swimming in one direction in a flowing movement. I have won awards for ‘best sculpted/molded work’ with the London Potters for two years consecutively I am a member of the Chelsea art society and I was ‘highly commended’ for a piece displayed in the 2016 annual Chelsea art show.
